What Our Customers Say
Tom does has excellent workmanship and takes his time to make sure the tint goes on perfect! I have had seven cars done by Tom and had no problems at all! They guarantee the work for the lifetime of the vehicle and it’s nice to know that that’s available!!Neela K., Yelp, 1/30/2014
I recently had some tinting removed and re-done here. While California Sunscreen may not be the cheapest window tinting available, they do a good job and are quite friendly. I would certainly feel comfortable returning here in the future for any window tinting I may need.Tristan T., Yelp, 2/02/2014
Just had my second car tinted by California Sunscreen. The first one was going on 8 years when I sold it and was still flawless. So, I knew their work and products would last. This time I got to watch Sidney do his magic. He uses top quality tints and is truly a tint artist. He takes his time and does a quality jobSteve G., Yelp, 8/05/2013

The law in California states that you can tint any shade behind the 2 front doors provided you have both a left and right side view mirror. Tinting of the front windshield is not legal except for the top 4-5″. The front doors can be tinted but the film and glass combined must allow a Visible Light Transmittance (VLT) of 70% or greater. The problem is most factory glass is already around 75% VLT so only a clear film can be installed.
If you have a medical prescription letter from a skin or eye doctor, you can legally have up to 35% VLT but not allowed to drive the vehicle at night. With that said, if you go with an ultra light shade of tint like 70%, it is like driving 5 MPH over a posted speed limit. Still not legal but I highly doubt you will ever get cited for it. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.
